MOTS

MOTS er en kunstnerduo fra Polen og Portugal. Diogo Ruas er maler, muralist og illustrator, og Jagoda Cierniak er fotograf og koordinator af kulturelle projekter.
Deres første fælles vægmaleri, skabt i 2017 i Portos UNESCO-verdensarvsområde, markerede starten på et vedvarende samarbejde inden for muralisme, maleri og mixed media-projekter.

MOTS udvikler abstrakte og surrealistiske visuelle fortællinger, der forholder sig til stedet gennem farve, fantasi og tematisk resonans.
Deres praksis balancerer Diogos minutiøse visuelle konstruktion med Jagodas intuitive sans for fortælling og researchbaserede tilgang.

Deres værker har været vist i udstillinger og store vægmalerier i næsten 30 europæiske byer i samarbejde med institutioner og festivaler som URBAN NATION, STRAAT Museum, Calle Libre, POW! WOW! Rotterdam (All Caps), Spacejunk og GSW Opole – Contemporary Art Gallery.

 

MOTS is an artistic duo from Poland og Portugal. Diogo Ruas is a painter, muralist, and illustrator and Jagoda Cierniak is a photographer and cultural project coordinator. 

Their first joint mural, created in 2017 in Porto’s UNESCO World Heritage area, marked the beginning of an ongoing collaboration spanning muralism, painting, and mixed media projects. 

MOTS develops abstract and surreal visual narratives that respond to place through color, imagination, and thematic resonance. Their practice balances Diogo’s meticulous visual construction with Jagoda’s instinctive sense of narrative and research-based perspective. 

Their work has been featured in exhibitions and large-scale murals across nearly 30 cities in Europe, in collaboration with institutions and festivals such as URBAN NATION, STRAAT Museum, Calle Libre, POW! WOW! Rotterdam (All Caps), Spacejunk, and the Contemporary Art Gallery GSW Opole.
